Black British Forums Black British Forums:: View topic - England Play on despite the Monkey Taunts -Right or Wrong?

It's a funny old world. The English F.A have been complaining about racism a lot this week after black English players were subjected to "monkey taunts" in ?Madrid. Heres what i had to say on the subject.

Black British Forums Black British Forums:: View topic - England Play on despite the Monkey Taunts -Right or Wrong?:

Personally,

I have to say I agree with the action of the England Team last night.
They played on choosing to ignore the bigots in the crowd.

Despite the fact that a lot of the England players have publically spoken out against racism. It is their job to play football.

It the job of the F.A, UEfa and Fifia to force countries to take counter measures against racist football fans.

England were aware that fans had payed to see a game of football
they chose to work hard and prove they were good players without buckling to the cat calls of a few mindless idiots.

Now Fifa ...get your house in order and penalise Spain.

You may ask why i take this stance...The reason is as a boy i used to play in my local team, there werent any other black kids in the whole league and sometimes i'd get called brown people and god by the parents or fans of the oposing team.

If I'd let this get to me I would never have enjoyed playing at all. I'd have quit giving the racists what they wanted.

Instead, I used to score goals...that really annoyed them..and shattered their superiority complex..

What do YOU say?"

Connecting Dreamweaver to a mysql Database demystified.

"Ha ha!!!

I have bloody done it!!! I have done it...

After working out the apache problem i have now solved the dreamweaver to mysql problem.

When you set up mysql, it asks you for a username and password.

Then when i went into dreamweaver, and used the database connection wizard ..i was trying to use the username I chose in mysql setup.
ie philgreg

When using dreamweaver to connect to your mysql database
it asks you for the following connection information.

Connection name: conn_mydatabase
Server name: localhost
username : root
Password : **********

Dont try to use the username you used for mysql setup as it wont grant you access to the database. you have to use 'root'

Why no one ever points this out in plain english tutorial I will never know...but hey the problem is solved, and I'm writing a tutorial as we speak.

No blinkin time to blog :(

Well, it seems like i'm flying along at 100 miles an hour. The last week seems like a whirlwind.

Friday night was bonfire night, and after much deliberating we decided to go the Fenton Park firework display. I have to say it was worth the money. I haven't been to a firework display for years. there were 1000's of people there. The fireworks were great, there were plenty of them and I thouht it was value for money.

Went up to T's parents on saturday. That was good, great food, funnies stories etc...Dan followed us too as his missus was doing a course in Matlock. We then went up to the Garage to get our brakes fixed.

As luck or providence would have it , knowing honest Al is a real boon. One phone call from him and we had a slot at the garage...they fixed the new brake pads whilst I waited.

That night was funny too , we went up to my old mates Daw's house...I was best man at his wedding. I met Toria at their wedding so we all get along famously. We had a alovely dinner and wine et beer etc. I was so full I couldnt move for about an hour.

Later on we settled down to chat and watch a couple of DVD's. We watched Van Helsing - (pile of Crap) and (Underworld - Marginally better). my enjoyment was marred somewhat because I'm allergic to Daws's dogs....,after an hour or so it was so painful. My eyes were running my nose was blocked and the old sinuses were playing havok.

When we left and got back to T's Parents I dosed up on decongestants, and co-codamol and went to bed. We had arrived the middle of decorating and so were all in one room. Toria couldnt sleep because Martha was snuffling and snorting all night...I never heard a thing...ahh the magic of pills and booze.

Next day I went up to my parents house in Tideswell. I dont get up there as much as I'd like to. the weather was dismal but Martha and I set out anyway. Mum and Dad made a real fuss of M.

She seemed to like all the attention and seemed right at home. We later went for a walk down to Tideswell Dale. I found a large branch and cleared the blocked storm drain down by the Sewage works. It was completely clogged with branches and fallen leaves. Hopefully I prevented, or at least delayed a future flood. knowing my luck, I probabally contibuted to some small village being swept away downstream. I forgot to take before and After pics with my camera phone Doh!!!

Wake up and smell the Ratshit.

Well, Its about 2Pm and I'm sitting here in my office, bored daft!!! I have just been browsing around for other interesting Weblogs. I found one by a lass called Avatar. I'm gonna link to her blog as it was one of the few that actually made interesting reading...as oposed to "My hamster is called Bill "GET A ***CKiN Life".

Anyway as I say, Avatar's Blog was Cool and it had nice borders , a cool Idea that I hadnt really thought about. Also she had used a clever way of displaying her mailto: link...again, I never thought of that...( if you place your email adress opn any webpage..it is in danger of being harvested by spambots...these are programs that trawl the web collecting email addresses for the spammers).

In addition she had some cool links and stuff like that..well, Avatar, if you are reading this, I'm stealing all your Ideas. .. Life is tough.. I respect your art though.

Rugrats and CD's

stayed up late last night fiddling around with Poser. managed to import a couple of photos of my profile into the heads section and made a 3d me...pretty scary stuff.

Had Weston Coyney Juniors coming into work today to add the content to their website project. I had to rush into work set up the computers, transfer all the video clips over etc. However it all went fine and the kids seem happy enough. They all did really well using Dreamweaver considering they are only 10.

Just had news that M is 19lbs...little porker. Aw, bless her she seems so happy, I hope it lasts.

On the bad News Front. The American people have done the world a great dis-service by re-electing that complete incompetant george W Bush. It really does beggar beleif. They would elect a Monkey in a republican Hat if it said it was " under God's command".

RIP the Free world!!!

I'll say no more today.

Poser poses a challenge.

Last night I realised that I am "well rusty" at Poser. After creating a nice face I completely ballsed it up and deleted it by accident. Some people wouldn't catalogue their failures but hey, this is a blog, and I at least try to be accurate.

I have been looking at books on Amazon and am going to try to get a copy for niche. I really must move into a new area of computer design. Web development can be a bit boring at times. Sure it's fulfilling when you get what you want, but ultimately, learning new skills is the thing that actually keeps you going.

Old Poems

When I was cleaning out my letters box the other day i found some old poems from my angst days.

I figure I'll share a couple.

Untitled.

Dark Velvet queen,
You steal to me from distant shores and pour forth your soul to my heart.
Thine offerings, laid on in blind faith yet ne'er dressed without trust.

Your senses impaired by touch withheld. Cerebral arms outstretched you cradle me unselfishly.
My heart soars , embraced entwined in thought of you.

The last package in the mail room

Here and now, I deliver, the last package in the mail room. Note the change of address. These last few months the old has faded, and one more familiar to you etches itself unquestionably not on, but all around.

If you should wish to accept this package, handle with care. If you listen closely you will hear a rythmic pounding, never faltering time piece of some kind.

You will notice, the odd damp area apparent. Vent not your anger at the delivery boy for his tears are almost dry, and his route to you was not without hazard.

Pay close attention to the manufacturers note:

We accept no responsiblilty for this products effectiveness or reliability. However we do expect that given favourable conditions this product can outgrow our initial aspirations.

Sign here please , please , please madam.

---------------------------------------------

Well, there you go I hope you like em...if not ah well, its all subjective.

You Gotta love Presents!!!!!

Hehe Got this package in the post today...woo hoo!!!!

Clock mayhem, baby puke, Beers, history and witches and broken doofers.

Woke up it was still dark. My daughter, being only 7 months old has not fully grasped the concept of putting the clock back an hour. It was 5.45 AM I rolled out of bed and got her then went to sort out her bottle. I returned without putting on the light ...I didn't want her anymore awake than she already was. She slurped down the milk with great gusto, I was happy that she had drunk it so quickly as I was dying to go back to bed.

I put her on my knee to burp her and as soon as I started to rub her back, she gave forth a humongous explosive burp , which was followed by a white tide consisting of approximately 3/4 of the bottle she had just drunk. Wiped her face and put her back down then began the non too pleasant task of wiping up sick at 6AM. The TV remote was covered in it. After a quick clean up another bottle for M I finally got back to bed....We all slept till 10AM.

Woke up and remembered that Ben had asked me to join him and some of his old workmates for a beer in the Corner Cupboard.

I rang him and found out that he shad forgotten to put his clock back ....So we were now meeting at 1.pm.

I was ok as I was installing various 3d programs. Poser being the main one, a program I really like but still have no idea about what the hell I'm doing. Must check to see if the faces I created last year are still on the laptop.

Left for the pub and Forgot that I wanted to call in at the Mormon church to find out their opening hours. The morning keep all the family records for everyone on their files. Anyone doing research into family trees is free to go and access their data.

Anyway, got to the pub and had a Sunday lunch( forgettable) and a nice pint of Bitter. Ben was with me and we met Alan and then Later Craig.

I haven't seen these two blokes for a couple of years now but within minutes we were all chatting away like the old days. We discussed Work, the war in Iraq, Pensions etc...All very whichever except for the fact that we tended to punctuate he sentences with F-Inc . During this time playing pool and chatting away I realized that I really enjoy the company of men from my own working class background.

Trying to forge a career out tends to make you hang out with go getters and career people. The so called middle classes or aspiration....I never realized how bloody boring these people can be. Give me rough factory workers any day. I left the pub realizing that I might earn a lot af money one day, but I guess you can never truly leave your roots. I was happy.

Got home and had a lovely tea with Torah. She made Shepherds pie and it was delicious. Then we realized that this mornings puking session had wrecked the TV controller. Oh well, I guess I'll have to get a new one or watch less TV...I'm leaning towards the latter.

Being Halloween, I had several witches come knocking at my door. I gave them all 20p as I had forgotten to go and buy sweets for them...I was pleased to see that most of them were accompanied by parents. WhenIi looked out on the street it was like the scene from E.T

The street was filled with loads of mini ghouls and demons...lol Bless em!
